We paid around €30 per person for our flights from Manila, which is relatively affordable, considering the distances involved.
For those traveling from El Nido, a scenic boat or ferry ride to Coron offers a different perspective of the breathtaking landscapes that define this region. This journey lasts about 3 to 4 hours, and the fare usually costs around €28 per person. As the tourism season can get busy, it’s wise to book your tickets ahead of time to avoid any last-minute hassles.
But here’s an exciting tip: instead of taking the ferry, consider booking a multi-day expedition boat tour! This allows you to spend your nights on some of the most beautiful remote islands while snorkeling in breathtaking spots along the way. The modern decor combines comfort and functionality, making it an excellent choice for travelers who want both relaxation and convenience. The staff at Jai-cob’s are incredibly friendly and eager to help you make the most of your stay, providing local insights and tips for your adventures. Plus, if you’re looking to unwind after a day of exploring, they offer massages right at the hotel. We paid around €42 per night for a double room, which we thought was a great deal for the quality we received.
This hotel’s central location also means you can easily access nearby attractions without the hassle of lengthy transportation. You can stroll through the town, engage with local vendors, and even discover hidden gems that might not be featured in travel guides.
Solo Travelers: Check Out Hop Hostel Coron
If you’re traveling solo or don’t mind sharing a dorm, consider Hop Hostel. This cozy place features a lovely garden with a swimming pool where you can relax after a day of exploring. There are two options for these tours: a group tour or a private one. While group tours can be a fun way to meet new people, we highly recommend opting for a private tour. With a private tour, you can customize your itinerary based on your interests and preferences. You can decide your departure time and even stop at the local market to pick up fresh ingredients for lunch, adding a personal touch to your experience. We chose to leave early, around 7:00 AM, which allowed us to beat the crowds. By 9:00 AM, the popular spots were bustling with tourists, which made our private tour even more enjoyable.
The standout locations on our private tour were Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, Banul Beach, and Barracuda Lake. Each spot had its own charm and beauty that took our breath away. For instance, Kayangan Lake, often hailed as the cleanest lake in the Philippines, offers stunning views and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Meanwhile, the Twin Lagoon showcases a unique feature: you can swim from one lagoon to another through a small opening, providing an exhilarating experience that’s hard to forget.
How Much Should You Expect to Pay for a Boat Tour?
The cost of a private boat tour may seem steep at first, but it’s worth every penny. We paid €120 for two people, which included lunch and five stops. Group tours, on the other hand, are much more budget-friendly, costing between €20 to €30 per person, depending on the route and season. You can easily arrange a boat tour through various hotels and tour operators in Coron town. We had a fantastic experience with Amazing Dream Travel & Tours, who organized everything perfectly.
Pro Tip: Don’t forget to pack plenty of water and sunscreen! A waterproof bag is also a great idea to keep your valuables safe while you’re enjoying the water. Staying hydrated is crucial, especially under the sun, and protecting your skin from UV rays will help ensure a pleasant experience throughout your adventures.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to visit, but we’ve heard great things about it!
